About the Essence of Hope Initiative

Essence of Hope was an initiative that was prompted by the death of a close friend in 2011. At a young age of 25, this beautiful young woman who had so much to offer the world, who had so much zest for life, lost the battle against leukaemia.

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with the leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.

According to the Leukaemia Foundation, leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders can develop in anyone, of any age, at any time. Around 11,500 Australians are expected to be newly diagnosed this year - equivalent to 31 people each day.

While it is hoped that a range of initiatives will stem from Essence of Hope, the main aim of this initiative is to raise much needed funds to support the work the Leukaemia Foundation provides to patients and carers through an annual event.

In 2011 -$6000 was raised.
In 2012 -$9759 was raised.
In 2013 - $11 285 was raised.

In 2014 - $13 420.50 was raised.

In 2015 - $9383.42 was raised.

In 2016 - $10 640 was raised.

Essence of Hope's Fuzzy Vision for the Future

Essence of Hope aims to develop a range of initiatives to better the situation of those impacted by Leukaemia and Blood Cancers.  Financial contributions to the Leukaemia Foundation will help them them to continue to support individuals and families as well as aid  necessary research to find a cure! Ongoing blood donations are often a necessary part of treatment and we urge people roll up their sleeves and get behind the Essence of Hope Group through the Australian Red Cross.
